I really enjoyed this book, it was a departure from what I have read from the author previously. It's not dark and dirty. What it is, is a story of redemption, of love, and of hope. I loved the characters flaws and all. This was a quick read, somewhere between full fledged novel and novella. It was fantastic and it packed a punch, no pun intended. This was told in dual pov.

Filthy Fight isn't the typical dark and depraved tale that we have come to know from Alta Hensley. It is a story about loss, regret, finding ones self again, hope, second chances and love. It is a story of overcoming the past and not giving it the power to consume your life anymore. It shows us that people can change and that some people deserve the chance to prove that they are worth it. And finally, it is a story that shows you that there is light after darkness. That bad things can happen to you, but with the right support, you can overcome anything.

Overall, I thought the story of Julep and Mateo was very well written. Their journey consuming every part of my heart. It taught me that no matter how tough things may get, never give up. There is always hope and when life gifts you with a second chance, don't waste one single second.
