With nothing left to lose, I take it. 

I didn’t expect to run into a blast from my past. The Ambros triplets. My only friends at the orphanage until they were adopted and I never saw them again. These boys are now grown and everything about them calls to me. 

They want to make good on their promises all those years ago. They want to protect me. Take care of me. 

The longer I’m around them the more I see their wants bleed into something dark, something obsessive. 

I know it's wrong, but why does it feel so good?

Review:

This is a good start for a duet, and leaves on a cliffy. The story is told in multiple pov, and it starts off as the characters are young children. It picks back up when they are in their 20's. The character development is good, I can't help but feel like I am waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I know the second half is going to be a doozy. The characters still have a lot to figure out, and I am sure there is going to be hell to pay for the stuff the tripletts have done so far. Cannot wait for the second half.

Trigger Warnings:

The triggers for this duet include physical and psychological abuse, graphic violence, homophobic actions, fatphobia (both from outside the harem and Carolina's internalized thoughts about herself), and on page murder. Knives and guns are mentioned and used. The FMC is plus sized and struggles with binge eating disorder, she often relies on food for solace. You don’t have to be plus size to binge eat and binge eating does not forcibly lead to being plus size. But in Carolina's case food is her coping mechanism. She is plus size her whole life. She has no friends and finds comfort in food. Carolina gets bullied (only from outside the harem) for being plus size. This is a reverse harem where the FMC will end up with three love interests. The duet is intended for readers aged eighteen and above. It’s a MMFM reverse harem, two of the guys are in a loving relationship with each other.

Review:

Yessssss, I have been waiting for this book, and let me tell you K. Webster never lets me down. She is the only person I know that can make 3 of the most awful men likeable. The triplets are simply put, a hot mess. While they seem different on the surface, deep down they are the same. They are all jacked up in one way or another. I started this book not knowing if I was going to like what I was reading, while I am a HUGE RH fan, this book was way more than that.
The chemistry between characters is amazing, and the plot just flows. The pacing was perfect and everything unfolded like it should. The world created is a holdover from the Cinderella series, but you DO NOT have to read those first to enjoy this book at all. This is a duet, so it does leave you hanging, but I know the second one is not far away, and man....I can't wait. Told in multiple pov, this book is amazing.

Ella and Raj-

As his tears fall and his body trembles against his silent cries, all I want to do is hold him, make this pain in him go away. I rest my lips against his softly. He pulls back and shakes his head, whispering against my lips, ”I need you, Ella. Like I need air.”
