Titan by Shantel Tessier

Titan - RB banner

I know I have a black soul. Bloodshed and danger are what I live for.

Titan, an all-new, must-read dark romance from bestselling author Shantel Tessier is available now!

TITAN-Amazon

TITAN
I know I have a black soul. Bloodshed and danger are what I live for.
A King is supposed to rule his Kingdom using any means necessary to demand respect.
I’m not a weak man… A King kneels to no one.
I’ve only ever cared about one other person in my life, but the thing is, she never belonged to me. And before I could tell her how I felt, she left.
Now she’s returned, needing someone to save her.
Emilee York was always meant to be mine, and I’ll see to it that happens. I always get what I want, even if that means I have to take it.
And she’s no different. She’ll be my queen, one way or the other.

EMILEE
When I left Sin City behind me, I had no plans to return. I avoided everyone, even my friends, to stay in my bubble. I’ve always been the kind to pull away and run when things get difficult.
But one phone call changed everything, and I was racing back. If only I had known what was waiting for me.
Titan reappeared like a ghost haunting me.
One look and I knew he recognized me. I never forgot him or what we shared. Those feelings that no one else knew existed between us.
I ignored them back then, but now they are more intense than ever.
“Get on your knees…” He demanded I kneel for him.
I tried to act like he didn’t affect me, but he knew. He remembered the way I reacted when he would touch me. And just like he was taught to do—he used my weaknesses against me.
He staked his claim, and I became his queen to use how he saw fit.
What makes it worse is that I crave him, and when I kneeled, it was willingly.
But was it for nothing?

Review:

If you like dark and delicious this is a book for you. I love Titan, the character he has, the world that the author gives to the reader is spectacular. What I don’t like? Emilee. Cannot stand this character at all, certainly couldn’t connect with her. I thought she was a spoiled lush. However that being said I enjoyed the rest of the characters. I really enjoyed the plot as well. Told in dual POV it really let me inside their heads.

Titan is the first book in the highly anticipated Dark Kings series by Shantel Tessier. When I first heard about it, I knew that I HAD TO HAVE IT. Everything that Shantel writes is like kindle crack to me, and I just can't get enough. Her books are dark and thrilling, angsty and suspenseful, completely addicting and steamy as hell. And Titan was no different. It's a dangerously dark and delicious tale that will have your heart racing while keeping you on the edge of your seat.

From the very start, this book blew me away. I absolutely loved it! Titan and Emilee had crazy hot chemistry and intense push and pull. I loved the whole Dark Kings crew. Especially Titan who was intense and unapologetic with his take no prisoner's attitude. But I also loved his sweet and protective side for the strong and sassy Emilee. And the sex scenes? OH MY GAWD! SO DAMN HOT!

All in all, Titan is a fantastic read that more than checked off all the marks for me. If you're into dark and suspense filled stories with a lot of twists & turns, nail biting angst and heaps of heat, then this book is for you. I simply cannot recommend it enough. I loved each and every single second of it from the beginning to the end. Five stars and so many more for Titan, Emilee and the Dark Kings!

Review

"If our fate is forbidden, then I'll live as a fugitive."

Oh my poor heart! Just as Stolen Soulmate did before, this book put my heart through the ringer. Forbidden Fate is one of the most powerful, heartfelt and gripping romances that I've had the pleasure of reading. Every word, every sentence, every page, completely owned me. It wasn't just phenomenal. It was everything!

Grayson has become the master of breaking promises, and Story has had enough. She decides to take matters into her own hands, only to end up on the arm of another cruel prince. One that she cannot stand, but one that offers her a way out. A chance to start over, away from Crown Hall and from Grayson himself. Grayson may still own her heart, but she refuses to continue to stay and watch him with another. It's just too hard. Only fate seems to have other plans for her.
I have to say this author's writing is articulate and remarkable. Every single one of her words has such feeling and depth to them. This story flowed beautifully, with romance, angst and enough suspense that it was a satisfying read. I felt myself never wanting it to end. This forbidden romance is an absolute must read, but please be sure to read Stolen Soulmate first. Five stars for Grayson, Story and Forbidden Fate!

Varsity Heartbreaker
Book 1 in The Varsity Series by Ginger Scott

Lucas Fuller is a lot of things.
He’s the boy next door.
He’s the first crush I ever had.
He was my first kiss.
He’s also the only person who has ever broken my heart.

For two years, I’ve wondered what happened to the us I used to know.
We were best friends, and then suddenly…we weren’t.
I tried to run away from it. I even changed schools just to make the hurt disappear.
But no matter how hard I tried to not think about Lucas, I just couldn’t stay away from the high school quarterback with perfect blue eyes and so many secrets.

I’m back. We’re seniors now. We’ve grown—all of us. And Lucas Fuller might be different, but I’m different too. This is my time to take risks, to experience life and to fall in love for real.

I want Lucas Fuller to be a part of my story, but I know for that to happen, I need to know the truth about our past.

EXCERPT:
There’s a camera crew on the field—a real one, not our student-run Internet show. They’ve positioned camera guys on either side of the banner being stretched out by a tower of cheerleaders. When the team trickles out, everyone in the student section—which has basically grown to be two-thirds of the stands—gets on their feet to scream. Abby is standing in front of me and she turns, catches me not doing my part, and points in that threatening way she has.

“Fine,” I mouth, cupping my hands around my lips and shouting, “Go Eagles!” as loud as I can. The sheer volume of my own voice, the togetherness of this moment, all of it—it infects me. My smile quits being pretend, and I get caught up in my role. I have a part to play, albeit probably not as important as everyone thinks, but for the next three hours, I will be a superfan. For the next three hours, nothing matters more than winning this game and destroying some school from South Bend.

The young men on the field shout in unison, growling with testosterone and pounding into each other, smacking helmets to helmets and gripping at facemasks to amp up their game faces. They explode through the banner, confetti covering the corner of the field as it’s fired from a few cannons held by some of our cheerleaders. Lucas is the first to break through, holding an American flag as he sprints straight down the center of the field, his co-captains running behind him with two Eagles flags.

My All-American boy.

He was so much younger the last time I saw him run like this. He was a leader that seemed too small to lead, but now—now he’s the guy with the V that cuts down his abs and whose arms completely fill out the sleeves of his jersey; whose neck doesn’t seem so pencil-thin anymore. His sweaty hair is swept to either side, and the black lines swiped under his eyes somehow make him seem like this superhero.

A hero who abandoned me when he got popular and when my life fell to shit, I remind myself.

The team captains are met by one of the coaches at the fifty-yard line. He takes their flags to fold them while the boys huddle up to pray. It’s such a blatant disregard for the separation of church and state, yet it seems nothing could be more important than this bonding happening in front of us all. More than the quiet power of the moment, though, is that Lucas is the one leading the prayer. Arms over shoulders, circles standing within circles, these boys who I’ve seen do the most unchristian-like things give respect to his words. I wish I could hear him or be close enough to read his lips. Some of the boys look up to the sky, a few of them holding their helmets high while their heads lower. Lucas’s eyes are closed, and there’s an innocence in his features, that much I can see from here. They all start clapping and an echoing “Amen” accompanies their formation of a tighter circle until the clapping becomes thunder and soon . . . fuel.

Lucas is the last to walk away from this private spot on the field. His head down, I recognize the familiar invisible weight on his shoulders. Even as kids, he always felt so damn responsible for everything and everyone. Especially for me. He rode his bike through rain to sneak me my favorite candy bar when my parents were fighting downstairs. And he insisted we fall asleep still on our phone call to each other if I felt scared or off. He sensed things when I didn’t share. He took burdens from me, whether I wanted him to or not, and shouldered them until he was sure my smile was real again.

I miss him. I miss him so fucking much.

I press my palms into my eyes while my friends aren’t looking, and manage to stop myself from feeling all of this somewhere so public. In less than a minute, the game takes over and distracts me from anything other than the anticipation and hope that brews in my belly every time Lucas throws the ball. He’s gotten better. I understand why his opportunity window is so big. There’s an easiness to the way he moves, and it’s more than instinct. He has plenty of that, though, after throwing the ball down our street to his dad every night—a million which ways and for hours on end. They haven’t thrown since freshman year, but that’s probably because Lucas has outgrown what his dad can give him.

Review:
This is what Ginger Scott does best. She writes angst filled mature YA books that make you fall in love. I for one cannot wait to see more of this series as I am sure it explores some secondary characters that I loved.

The strength of the characters personalities and ties really hold this book together well. It was a joy to read, it was easy to read, and it was just amazing with how the story and strong character development happened. For sure a must read, if you like Ginger Scott.

Excerpt:

“I don’t like this.”
A hand went to the back of my chair, a head popped up between our two front seats, and that was announced. Mason was in the driver’s seat and I was in the passenger seat. Logan looked at each of us. He was wearing a distinct frown-smirk combo on his face as he said his piece.
Problem was, he’d been saying it since we left Boston, since we landed in California, and since we’d been in the rental and driving three hours past Fallen Crest.
It’d been said. It’d been heard.
We were now at the part where we wanted to murder my brother-in-law. Or, correction, where I wanted to murder my brother-in-law. Mason was stoic and driving. He was able to get in the zone and tune Logan out. Taylor was sitting in her chair, reading on her phone. She had the whole tuning-out thing too.
Not me. I was a mom, so somehow that meant I always had to be aware and alert, and now I was close to grinding my teeth and yelling for a Logan time-out.
Five minutes in the back, please.
Mason grunted. “Tough shit.”
Nice. Maybe he wasn’t so ‘tuned out.’
I looked at Taylor. “Can you keep him under control?”
She glanced up from her phone. “You know the answer to that question. You’ve known him longer.”
Touchรฉ.
I’m not sleeping with him.”
Taylor just laughed. “Shouldn’t have said that. He’s probably refraining from twenty different inappropriate jokes as I’m talking.”
Ahem.” Logan gave us both a look. “It’s because I love both of you—in different ways—and respect both of you that I’m not touching that. But Sam…” Logan leveled me with an aggrieved look, his eyebrows raised. “Can you watch what you say? Old Logan would’ve been all over that one, and can you imagine the innuendos?” He gestured to himself, his face tight. “But I’m here. Being polite—”
“Sorry. I thought since you’re older and in law school, you’d be more mature.”
“It’s like you don’t know me at all.” But he was grinning.
“Logan.” Insert some assertive tone here. I had to make my point. “We got a babysitter for the weekend. I got permission for a full weekend off from my training. Your brother is on a much-needed vacation before football training starts, and I have been needing Heather time even though I saw her a few weeks ago.”
I had a point. What was it? “So shut it, okay?”
That was my point.
“All I’m saying is that we were supposed to do the yacht. Nate and Matteo were up for it. Now suddenly we’re doing a camping thing. I’m not clear on the why?”
Mason glanced into the rearview mirror. “It was Nate’s idea. He said something about family research. What’s your issue? You like camping.”
“That’s when we were young. We did stupid shit back then like. We’re old now. If we go camping, I prefer it to be on things like yachts. Or we stay in a mega-mansion and our camping is napping by the pool. I like that type of camping.”
Taylor frowned at him. “Babe.”
He shot her a look, frowning slightly, but his face softened. He reached out, touching her leg. “It’s nothing. I’ll get over it.”
Good.
That was settled.
Two minutes later, it wasn’t.

LOVEWRECKED-FOR-WEB.jpg
Daisy Lewis is experiencing a relentless string of bad luck.

That is until Daisy meets the best man.
If you take tall, dark, and handsome, and add a dash of rugged, a pinch of brooding, and a whole lot of sexy, you’ve got Tai Wakefield. Unfortunately he’s also a major grump, total alpha, and seemingly out to antagonize Daisy at every turn.
As if being part of the wedding party with Tai wasn’t bad enough, Daisy’s bad luck soon resurfaces when she ends up on a cramped sailboat with Tai and the newlyweds.
Which then shipwrecks on a deserted island near Fiji.
Okay, so they aren’t completely alone. There’s an oddball research scientist who has been isolated for far too long, they have rundown bungalows as shelter, stores of water and canned food, plus a feral goat named Wilson. It’s Lost…without the smoke monster.
But with rescue weeks away, Tai and Daisy realize the only way they’re going to get through this mess is to stop fighting and start working together.
And with their guards down, they get closer.
A lot closer.
Soon, Daisy realizes that the only thing worse than being stuck on a deserted island, is being stuck on a deserted island with a man she hates to love and loves to hate.

I didn’t mean to star in a sex tape, okay?
It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds.
It just happened.
Now my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston’s nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan.
The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family’s oil company.
Little does she know, that’s not the only pipe I’ll be laying…
Sailor
I didn’t want this gig, okay?
But the deal was too sweet to walk away from.
I needed the public endorsement; Hunter needed a nanny.
Besides, what’s six months in the grand scheme of things?
It’s not like I’m in danger of falling in love with the appallingly gorgeous,
charismatic gazillionaire who happens to be one of Boston’s most eligible bachelors.
No. I will remain immune to Hunter Fitzpatrick’s charm.
Even at the cost of losing everything I have.
Even at the cost of burning down his kingdom.

Review:
Hate You is the first book in a brand new series by Tracy Lorraine. When I first saw the blurb for this one, I knew it was the book for me. I honestly love angsty love stories filled with strong sexual tension and crazy back and forth between the two leads. And GOOD LORD, the sexual tension was physically oozing off of the pages. This author can write some really good intense chemistry. Zach and Tabitha aka Biff's love/hate relationship was amusing, addicting and sizzling hot. If you're looking for an entertaining best friend's brother/enemies-to-lovers romance, then look NO FURTHER. You're going to want to read this. Five stars for Zach, Biff and Hate You!
