Evangeline Walker knows how quickly everything can change.
But nothing can prepare her for the moment she meets Rafe Hunter.
Intense gray eyes.
Wicked smile.
Tattoos inked on his skin just begging to be touched.
Those aren’t the reasons Eva should stay away from him though.
The fact he’s the bassist for America’s hottest rock band is the reason she should run and never look back.
Everyone knows the greatest love stories all start somewhere.
... this is their beginning.

REVIEW:

Wow! It's no secret that I love rock star romance, and when I found out one of my favorite authors was coming out with this new series, I couldn't help but to dive right in. Rush is the prelude novel to the Black Hearts Still Beat series. It was a fantastic introduction into this whole new world full of romance, heartbreakingly beautiful lyrics and a connection between two scarred souls.

Evangeline Walker has been going through the motions day after day, but not truly living. Not like she did before. Making music was her passion and dream, but that was before her life was turned upside down. So her best friend Molly decides that she needs a little push and enters her into a country music competition. Maybe getting back to what she loved before will make her feel alive again. And there at the competition, she meets Rafe Hunter, the bassist for the Black Hearts Still Beat. The two of them hit it off from the start, and he helps her to remember what it feels like to truly live again.

Rush was an emotional, angsty rock star romance that I devoured in a day. Endearing characters, an engaging story-line packed with all the feels, that made me both cry and swoon... This was a completely engrossing page-turner that I simply couldn't bring myself to put down. I am already in love with this world and after that ending, I cannot wait for book two. I NEED MORE EVA AND RAFE... LIKE NOW!

Series: Lords of Wildwood #1
Author: Betti Rosewood
Genre: New Adult/Steamy Romance
Release Date: June 3, 2019

Blurb

We’re young. Privileged. Dirty. And we ruin lives for fun.

She knew being the new girl at Wildwood would never be easy, considering who she is. But nobody warned Tinsley Sullivan we'd be doing everything in our power to make her high school experience one of the most horrible times of her life.

They say my name like I'm their king. Crispin Dalton. Teachers and students worship the ground I walk on. They all follow my lead... Except for her.

I didn't think she'd have it in her to fight back. It's kind of adorable that she won't budge, refusing to break for me, to submit to my cruel desires. Except I'll never stop pushing for more. I'm ready to make her life so miserable, she'll be begging me to stop hurting her.

There's just one thing that's messing it all up.

Tinsley is off-f*cking-limits.

And I need to keep that in mind when I kiss my girlfriend... her best friend.

Welcome to Patchwork House…

Patchwork House is a boy’s club—a mean boy’s club. They made an exception for Tweetie once, and they’re going to make another, because she’s coming home. After two years away and one too many broken hearts, Tweetie swore off skaters—but she never expected Flip.

Flip was the most famous skater in the world until he traded his place at Patchwork with the little girl whose life he ruined. Now Tweetie’s all grown up, and one chance encounter brings them together. He knows the right thing to do is disappear before things get ugly, but he never was very good at being good.

She’s back, and so is he—all bets are off. Nothing will stop this bad boy from finally getting his lost girl. They're written in the stars, and it's time she knows it.

Excerpt

“I’m so bad for you. If I was a good guy, I’d stop. I’d let you be happy.”
I didn’t understand any of what he was saying, but the pain I felt. Deep. In his rocky, strangled voice and his desperate, cracking eyes.
“Whatever it is I’ll understand. If you did something…if something happened…I’ll understand.”
Tell me. Please.
Let me in.
His stare dug into me, and again I was certain he was searching for something. I desperately wanted him to find it.
He exhaled, resigned.
“I’m not a good guy. I’m the fucking worst.” He captured my face in his palms, grip sure and almost painful in its desperation. The way he looked at me, I was sure he would kiss me. The way I felt, I was certain I would let him.
But then, with slow and almost agonizing determination, his lips came to my forehead.
I was frozen. Mute. Struck dumb. Everything stopped working all I knew was his lips on my skin. Soft and so tender, a complete contrast to his grip digging into my skull.
He pulled back, pressed his forehead to mine, and looked at me from beneath hooded lids.
“I’m going to put the awe back in your eyes,” he said, and my breath caught. “You looked at me like I was a god once, and you’ll do it again.”
