My Review of  Plus One

This is my first book by Mae Wood, while this is part of series, I was told it can be read as standalone and it really can. The story line about a single dad bartender was a winner. However he is more than that. He is part owner of Pig and Barley, an upscale restaurant. The writing is amazing, the the author has a way with words that just make you feel as if you are part of the book.

First we have Bert(short for albert) who had a rough go of a relationship with his ex. He has a grown up son. Drennan who has a family legacy with the wine industry. Drennan is smart, sassy and confident heroine. A wine rep for a company that sells to pig and barley.While there is a pretty big age difference, that neither seem to time. They don't want a life time just a little casual sexy time.

While these two are not in it for anything serious in this relationship, when they least expect it their missing half comes along. I loved their little moments, together they are awesome.This book appealed to me for many reasons aside from Bert and Drennan, being married to a foodie, the setting in the food and beverage industry caught my attention, the extensive knowledge of the terms used that the author has to describe the wines and food are without par. Mae Wood's words are amazing and captured the story line well.
