Avenged is masterfully weaving together The Saints of Denver, Welcome to The Point and The Breaking Point in one novella.
We meet Ben/Benny as Novak's right hand man in the Welcome to the Point series,and Echo who was introduced briefly in The Saints of Denver. Echo finds herself in Surrender as a direct result of her grief at losing her younger sister, she is on a misguided mission to uncover the identity of her sisters obsession with a MacKenzie which is how it ties into the cross over. Ben has slowly started to change his character in his isolation. It isn't until he aids Echo that he truly wants to change. The connection between Echo and Ben is magnetic they each recognise the broken mess pieces that each other is struggling with.
This story is told in first person with alternating views.
