I am doing foster an author for the first time ever, and I am super excited. I have 2 authors this year. One of the authors is Tracey Scott-Townsend.
Tracey is an amazing author, she is super creative and a lovely woman. I gave her a form with some basic getting to know you questions and she got right back to me.  Let's get the word out about this fabulous author. She is send me some goodies to give away to a lucky person, I will have the contest pinned on the top of my blog and on my facebook page.

Getting to know you:

Author's Name
Tracey Scott-Townsend
Do you have a new release coming soon?
What is the name? Date of Release and Synopsis
My most recent release Is Of His Bones and it was published by Inspired Quill in March this year. It's the sequel to The Last Time We Saw Marion which is about an anorexic girl called Marianne who appears in the lives of a famous author, Cal and his older sister, Sarah. When they see Marianne she looks identical to Cal's dead twin sister Marion, who died 17 years before. Cal becomes obsessed with Marianne and she is left with irrevocable consequences. Of His Bones is set 20 years later and revolves around Mariana Rivers who is happily adopted and has a young son of her own. Then her contented life starts unravelling as she becomes acquainted with both sides of her birth family. The woman she thought was a cousin of her adopted mum turns out to be her actual grandmother, whose daughter is dying and she begs Mariana to see her before it's too late. This opens up a whole can of worms but it does result in Mariana finally understanding who she really is. It also solves the original problem of Cal and Marianne and sets everything back into its proper place.

What is your favorite book, that you have written?
For simplicity's sake I'll say my first novel, The Last Time We Saw Marion, though fortunately, I'm quite fond of all my books.
How did you start writing?
I used to write and draw all the time when I was a child. Then I did an Art degree and a Masters degree in Art, but I continued writing in the background - lots of poems and short stories and attempts at novels. I completed one novel in 1989 while I was at Art college, then set it aside. It was more than 20 years later when I dug it out again and rewrote it as The Last Time We Saw Marion. I worked on it for a few more years before I got a publishing deal with Inspired Quill.
What is your favorite book?
I think it must be Wuthering Heights. I wanted The Last Time We Saw Marion (plus it's sequel Of His Bones - published early this year) to be a kind of contemporary Wuthering Heights.
What gives you inspiration?
Real-life experiences, my own and the things I see and hear around me. Places, landscapes, motherhood, love of all kinds, social injustices. I love creating a fictional world which I try to make as 'real' as possible for the reader.
Anything to add?
Thank you for 'fostering me'. I hope a few more readers are drawn towards my books.

  1. I love Tracey's books and I think my current favourite has to be 'Of his Bones'although I really enjoyed 'The Eliza Doll' as it had so many twists in the plot! I am looking forward to a new release.
